Won Tech ATRS is a premium Q-switched Nd:YAG Laser that provides high power output during all treatments of pigmentation.
Consistent output on a large targeted area with uniform energy distribution allows safe and effective treatment, minimizing skin thermal injury and selectively destroying pigments present throughout the dermis. Incorporated PTP (Photo-acoustic Twin Pulse) technology presents less pain and faster regeneration, compared to the single-pulse technology.
What are the skin conditions that can be treated by Cosjet ATRS?
Melanin is what gives our skin its color. The amount of melanin in your skin determines if you have a light or dark complexion. Some types are present at birth, but most occur with age, or as a result of overexposure to the sun’s damaging ultraviolet rays.
Conditions that can be treated with Cosjet ATRS:
Nevus of Ota / Ito
Abnom (Acquired Bilateral Nevus of Ota-like Macular)
PIH (Post inflammatory Hyperpigmentation)
Café au Lait
Solar / Simplex Lentigo
Neus of Ito
Neus of Ota
How is Cosjet ATRS performed?
Most patients will feel the pulses as quick tingling sensations, like very tiny rubber bands snapped against the skin. In some case, anaesthetic cream may be applied prior to the treatment for maximum comfort. The procedure usually lasts between 10 to 20 minutes.
Cosjet ATRS was specifically designed to effectively target the dark concentrations of melanin. After the abnormal amounts of melanin are removed, and treatment continues on normal skin, some whitening could occur. However, your body’s natural regenerative system would replace the normal melanin over a period of time, returning the skin to its natural color.
Are there any side effects? Any downtime?
The procedure is safe. There is a possibility of mild flushing that should resolve after 30 minutes. More obvious localized redness lasting a few days may occur with intensive treatments. Most patients can resume their daily routine immediately after the treatment. For removal of tattoo and superficial pigments, scabbing will form which will drop off after several days.
The Cosjet ATRS laser emits light in very short pulses. The impact of the energy from the power pulse of light is similar to the snap of a thin rubber band. After the treatment, the area will feel similar to a light sunburn. Typically any discomfort will disappear within a day or so. After the redness clears, the skin returns to its natural color and texture.
How many session of treatment do I need?
Most common pigmented lesions are removed within one to two treatments. Some deeper lesions will require more treatments.
A customized treatment regime is provided. You may need anywhere from 2 to 6 treatments to see the results. Some deep lesions require more than 6 sessions. The treatment is repeated every 1 to 4 weeks.
What is the special care after the treatment?
Our doctor will discuss with you about post laser care plan. Generally, you should be gentle with your skin, keep it hydrated and apply sun block.
Redness may be experienced for a short period following the procedure. After the redness subsides, the skin will return to its natural colour and texture. Occasionally, there may be pinpoint bleeding associated with the treatment. Affected area should be kept clean and scrubbing avoided. You will be given an antibacterial ointment to apply.
Common pigmented lesions do not return. Some birthmarks may return after a period of several months to a year. However, the procedure can be repeated.
